Just five days before the scheduled execution, a Philadelphia judge will rule this morning on a defense stay of execution for convicted killer Terrance Williams. Williams is scheduled to die next Wednesday for the 1984 murder of Amos Norwood. The prosecution presented evidence the murder was committed during a robbery, but a convicted co-conspirator, who cooperated with authorities, now says he was coached to lie. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons is reconsidering clemency for Williams.

Police are searching for a man who stole more than $91,000 worth of jewelry from the Montgomeryville Costco early Wednesday morning. Store surveillance cameras caught the man walking into the store Tuesday evening around 8:15, aimlessly walking down Costco’s aisles, until police say he hid. Seconds before midnight, he began his spree, shattering jewelry cases and emptying them.

Thousands of Christians from across the nation are expected to gather on Independence Mall to pray for the healing of our country and to bring America back to Biblical values. “America for Jesus” kicks off two days of events tonight. Christian music groups and speakers will take to the stage at 7 p.m. Friday on Independence Mall for a youth rally. Saturday it will be a day of solemn prayer on the mall.
