A clash between wedding parties in Society Hill ended with one man dead and several in jail. The fight started between two brothers in the lobby of the Sheraton about 2 am Sunday and according to wedding guests a thrown object struck someone else and mayhem ensued. The 57 year old uncle of one of the brides suffered a heart attack and died. Several wedding guests ended up in the emergency room and three in jail.

Mayor Nutter has stepped in to the Mitt Romney t-shirt controversy between a teacher and student at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond. Nutter met individually with Lynette Gaymon, the geometry teacher and Samantha Pawlucy, the student who claims she was ridiculed and embarrassed by the teacher for wearing a pink Mitt Romney t-shirt. Neither side would discuss their conversation with the Mayor. School resumes tomorrow and both plan to be there.

Tomorrow is Pennsylvania's deadline for voter registration. Committee of Seventy President, Zack Stalberg suggests checking your voting status if you have not voted in a while. After 5 years of inactivity people can get removed from the voting register. Those folks need to register again. To check your voting status go to VotesPA.com or call 866-OUR-VOTE.
