Obama Wins Second Term, Winter Storm Warning in Philadelphia, Marathon Welcomes New York Runners

President Obama has won four more years in the White House. The Presidential election was a virtual dead heat all night with Mitt Romney leading most of the way in the popular vote. However, Obama won the Electoral College votes needed for re-election. In Pennsylvania, Bob Casey won the Senate race, Pat Meehan won and Kathleen Kane becomes the first female Attorney General in Pennsylvania history.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect this afternoon during a Nor'easter in Philadelphia and surrounding counties. We are expecting 3 to 5 inches to fall between now and 6 am Thursday. Strong winds will blow from the North reaching 30 miles per hour. Visibility will drop to a quarter mile. During the heaviest snow tonight, temperatures will drop below freezing, making driving even more hazardous.

The Philadelphia Marathon has opened 3,000 more slots for runners who registered but could not run the cancelled New York City Marathon. With Hurricane Sandy, New York cancelled its marathon. Today, only runners who had registered for New York, may apply for one of the 3,000 slots in Philadelphia. More info is available at Philadelphia Marathon

Weather
Nor'easter through Thursday morning. Rain, wind and snow. Accumulating 3 to 5 inches. 38 in Philadelphia.
