Winning Powerball Numbers, Nutter Off To China, Gloucester Catholic High School Custodian Charged

The numbers drawn for the record $550 million Powerball jackpot are: 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6. Officials said they believed there was a 75 percent chance the winning combination would be drawn Wednesday. Tickets earlier in the day were selling at a rate of 130,000 a minute nationwide.

Mayor Nutter is leading a delegation of local civic and business leaders on a week-long trip to China starting today. Mayor Nutter and 11 others are leaving later today for seven days in China, including stops in Beijing and Philadelphia’s sister city Tianjin. Nutter planned the trip after he was invited to speak in Beijing to a conference on urban sustainability. The cost to taxpayers for the five city officials who are traveling is estimated at between $8,500 and $9,000 total, covering airfare and accommodations.

Authorities are looking into the actions of a Gloucester Catholic High School maintenance worker who is said to have circulated photos of students via cell phone. Prosecutors say 41-year-old John Martin set up a network of cameras at Gloucester Catholic High School that he used to spy on teachers and students. Students used some of the rooms in the schools as changing areas and some of the images show nudity. Martin, who was Chief Custodian at the school for 18 years, was arrested and charged with a count of 3rd degree Invasion of Privacy.
