Eagles Fire Defensive Line Coach, Paulsboro Schools Closed, New Parking Regulations at Temple

After the Eagles loss to the Cowboys last night, the Eagles announced they were firing defensive line coach, Jim Washburn. His replacement is a familiar face to the Eagles, Tommy Brasher. Brasher coached the Eagles defensive line in 1985 and from 1999 to 2005.

Unsafe levels in the air this morning led to all Paulsboro Public Schools closing until further notice. Meanwhile the NTSB has reported that Conrail crews had reported problems with signals weeks before Friday’s train derailment. The issue they are investigating is the red light displayed on the bridge alerting the train whether it is safe to cross.

Philadelphia City Council is trying to reign in a parking issue around Temple University. Local residents complain that students are taking up all of the available street parking spaces. With the boom in student housing, new regulations will require developers to provide a certain number of off-street parking spots.

Sports
Former Phillies closer, Brad Lidge has decided to hang up the glove and retire.

Weather
Mostly clear and warm today. 62 in Philadelphia.
