A pit-bull fighting ring has been busted in Chester County. A couple ran dog fights in their home where they were also raising their 5 children. Police arrested Shane Santiago on drug charges and upon entering his home, found the bloody dog fighting operation. Santiago and Laura Acampora are facing animal abuse and child endangerment charges.

Philadelphia’s Sugarhouse casino has been fined $15,000 for allowing three banned patrons to gamble there. The PA Gaming Control Board says all three gamblers had been banned. Two were in the “Self-Excluded Program” for motivated problem gamblers. The third offender was on the exclusion list for cheats and professional offenders barred from licensed casinos.

A new homeless shelter for veterans opened today in Camden. The Delaware Valley chapter of Volunteers of America cut the ribbon on the $4 million dollar facility. The thirty bed shelter on Atlantic Avenue in Camden will be available to veterans who served and will provide case-management services, employment support, meals, semi-private rooms and transportation.
