SEPTA Weekend Shuttle Service, Philadelphia Housing Theft, Threat Closes Merchantville School

The ongoing construction at Dilworth Plaza will cause a weekend's worth of inconvenience for Center City SEPTA riders. SEPTA plans to run shuttle buses on the Market-Frankford El between 11th and 30th Streets all day Saturday and Sunday. The 15th Street station will be completely closed, shutting down third-rail power at 15th Street for the Dilworth Plaza reconstruction.

Four Philadelphia men are facing charges in an alleged scam prosecutors say amounted to stealing 22 houses. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office said Zachary Stokes, Oscar Ketter and Elhadi Ibrahim were arrested Wednesday following a three-year investigation. Steven Johnson has also been charged but remains at large. Investigators say the men would forge documents for unoccupied houses and transfer ownership from the rightful owner, then sell the houses to innocent purchasers.

A Camden County school announced Wednesday night it will be closed today due to a reported threat found in the boys’ bathroom. Police were called out to Merchantville School at about 4 p.m. after officials say writing on the bathroom wall indicated there would be a shooting at the school. The president of the school board, Edward Bohn said in a statement that police are asking that all parents speak to their kids about this incident.
