Haddon Twp Illegal Firearm Arrest, Tacony/Dietz and Watson Ammonia Leak, VH1 Airing July 4th Concert

A Haddon Township man and known member of the anti-government extremist group, the Sovereign Citizen Movement, has been arrested for the illegal possession of numerous firearms. Gregory Gawrysiak was arrested on Thursday morning at his home on Emerald Avenue on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of an Assault Firearm, and Possession of a Defaced Firearm. He was being held in the Camden County Jail Thursday night on $500,000 bail.

Police and Hazmat crews responded to an ammonia leak in the Tacony section of the city. It happened near the Dietz & Watson plant on Tacony Street. Officials say the leak did not happen near the food manufacturing area. The plant was evacuated and no injuries were reported. Officials say there was no threat to the public.

Philadelphia’s Fourth of July celebration is going national. This year’s free outdoor concert will be broadcast live on the cable network Vh1. The Roots became part of the big Fourth finale’s executive production team in 2010 and their manager has helped sell broadcast rights to VH1 and the high-def music channel Palladia. The Roots, their manager, and VH1 are working on the lineup for this year.
