Chip Kelly, the Philadelphia Eagles new head coach met the media today and answered questions. Kelly gushed about the franchise's standard of excellence and does not take the responsibility lightly. He likes the Eagles' youth and speed and plans an attack style defense. The new coach also thanked Andy Reid who Kelly consulted prior to taking the job.

Philly’s two leading newspapers, the Inquirer and Daily News may face liquidation by the papers’ owners if they can’t reach new labor deals. Newspaper Guild union leaders are trying to hammer out a new deal with the ownership group to keep the papers going. Ten unions have been working without a contract since October.

Edward Avery, the former priest who admitted assaulting a 5th grader and was sent to jail has recanted his story, saying he did not even know the person. He took the plea deal to avoid the possibility of life in prison. The same alleged victim in the Avery case is now accusing Father Charles Englehardt and lay-teacher, Bernard Shero who claim they are innocent.
