The Verdict is guilty for the priest and Catholic school teacher accused of sexually assaulting a Northeast Philadelphia boy. The jury agreed on all but one count against Reverend Charles Engelhardt and the teacher Bernard Shero. Bail was revoked for both men and they were taken into custody. Charges were brought by a young man who was 10 years old at the time of the assault 14 years ago.

Governor Corbett announced today his plan for privatizing Pennsylvania’s state liquor stores. $1 billion in proceeds from the auction of the retail and wholesale system would be used to fund Pennsylvania’s public school system. Corbett’s plan opens up the wine and beer market to grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, taverns and big-box stores.

The temperature got up to 68 degrees today, just shy of the record 70 degree mark set in 1947. Heavy rain and wind up to 60 miles per hour are expected through tonight across the area. Flash flooding and power outages are likely. High winds may also pick up anything not tied down, so secure anything outside. Overnight, temperatures will fall into the 20’s and snow is possible in the morning.

Weather
Heavy rain bands and high wind tonight. Overnight, temperatures fall into the 20’s in Center City.
