Linebacker Bill Romanowski Owes IRS $5M, FBI Nabs Serial Bank Robber, Pope Benedict Leaves Vatican

Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bill Romanowski and his wife Jill owe the Internal Revenue Service about $5 million. Romanowski was an Eagle in 1994 and 1995. He won Super Bowls with Denver and San Francisco. The debt is related to back taxes on a horse breeding investment that went bankrupt.

The FBI has reported they’ve arrested the serial bank robber believed to be responsible for nine bank hits in the past month in the Philadelphia area. Tarik Hooks of the 1600 block of North Allison Street is the man authorities say started the bank heist spree on February 2nd at Citizen’s Bank on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. At least $23,000 was taken during his string of thefts.

Pope Benedict resigned today becoming the first Pope to step down in 600 years. Before leaving, the Pope met with more than 100 Cardinals to offer his blessing and promise to support his successor. The Pope then boarded a helicopter and flew from Vatican City to a nearby papal retreat, Castel Gandolfo. Pope Benedict will spend the remainder of his life in prayer, reflection and writing.
