A former Delaware County school principal faces charges today related to child pornography. Troy Czukoski, the former principal of Springton Lake Middle School is accused by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of having hundreds of images of child porn. Czukoski’s home was raided in October, after he had resigned from the school. He admits they are his and claims he is an adult survivor of childhood sex abuse. Czukoski could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Black smoke. In Rome, 115 Cardinals celebrated Mass this morning then moved to the Sistine Chapel for the Papal Conclave. After today’s first round of votes, black smoke billowed from the chimney indicating that a new pope has not been selected. The Cardinals will reconvene tomorrow morning for additional rounds of discussion, prayer and voting. When they send up white smoke, it indicates a new Pope has been selected.

The president of Arcadia University has been fired and no one is saying why. Carl “Tobey” Oxholm III was terminated by the Board of Trustees after less than two years as president. In a lengthy statement, Oxholm says he was “surprised and disappointed.” "It was without cause and those who conveyed the decision to me declined to give me any reason or explanation for the decision or the speed of its implementation," he said. A spokesperson for the Board said it was a confidential issue between the parties. Nicolette DeVille Christensen will now serve as chief operating officer for the university to oversee all the financial and administrative duties.

"The board would like to thank Mr. Oxholm for his service to Arcadia, and for the many accomplishments the university has experienced during his tenure," said Arcadia’s Board of Trustees Chairwoman Margaret Wright Steele in a statement. "We are confident that Dr. Christensen will move the university forward in a positive direction for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and community members."
