Philadelphia NCAA Tournament Dance Card, Abortion Doctor Trial, Corbett's Liquor Plan

Three Philadelphia schools will play in the NCAA Tournament. Villanova, Temple and LaSalle were all invited to the big dance. Villanova, a nine seed will play North Carolina Friday. Temple will play NC State Friday. LaSalle will play Boise State Wednesday night. Let the office pools begin.

The trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell is underway today. Gosnell is charged with murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies. The jury will see gruesome photos and hear graphic testimony in the case. Gosnell allegedly cut the spinal chords of healthy babies born alive. Gosnell has pleaded not guilty.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett’s liquor privatization plan will be tested this week. The House Liquor Control Committee is meeting to consider the proposal to auction the state’s 600 liquor stores to the private sector. The estimated $1 billion in proceeds would fund public schools for early childhood education, school security and other school needs.

The 76ers host Portland tonight and the Flyers are in Tampa Bay to play the Lightning.
