Woman Killed in Hit and Run, Mom Tells Daughter to Pepper Spray Staff, Old Parking Meters Remain

New Jersey police are investigating the death of a pedestrian woman in Cumberland County. The woman was found dead last evening near the corner of Warren and North Penn Street in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The incident may involve a New Jersey Transit bus. That company is cooperating in the investigation.

An Upper Darby woman attacked department store employees with pepper spray yesterday, then handed the spray can to her 7 year old daughter telling her to finish the fight. Twenty seven year old Delaina Garling had been barred from the store for prior theft charges. When she was asked to leave, she doused two employees. When she was tackled, she handed the spray to her daughter, who did not shoot anyone. The incident happened on Monday at the Garrett Road Family Dollar store around 3:30 pm. She told her daughter, 'You know what to do, baby. Spray it!'

Electronic parking kiosks have been operational for about 4 years in Center City and University City. However the Philadelphia Parking Authority have no immediate plans to replace the old coin operated meters in other sections of the city. The PPA says it is cost prohibitive, however they are considering meters that also accept credit cards.

Weather
Snow showers around the Philadelphia area today. 38 in Center City.
