A young mother and grandmother left an 8 month old infant behind while they beat the train fare at SEPTA's 60th Street Station. The 15 year old mother went through the turnstiles and handed her day pass back to her mother who goes through, then both went to the train without the baby, left behind in a stroller. After a few moments alone SEPTA police took the baby to a safe spot until mom and grandmother returned. The Department of Human Services was consulted and the baby is back with her mom.

Former State Senator Vince Fumo will have a bigger real estate tax bill when he gets out of prison. Fumo’s Spring Garden Mansion has quadrupled in value according to the city’s new property assessments. The 27 room Victorian Brownstone had been valued at $675,000 under the old system. Now taxable value is $2.6 million. Fumo is completing a 5 year sentence for fraud and other charges.

The trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell was disrupted this morning amid loud and angry outbursts over a legal dispute related to the planned testimony of prosecution toxicologist Timothy Rohrig. He was scheduled to testify about the quantity of Demerol found in the body of a woman who died during an abortion. The jury was kept out of the courtroom this afternoon while the judge and lawyers argue the issues.

Weather
Partly cloudy tonight. 34 in Center City.
