A 27-year-old woman is dead in Kensington after being shot in the neck by her 28-year-old boyfriend. The shooting is said to have happened accidentally. The boyfriend was arguing with a neighbor outside their home on East Seltzer Street around 7:45 pm when the neighbor threatened him with a hammer. The boyfriend, fearing for his safety, pulled out his gun. However, he tripped and accidentally pulled the trigger hitting his girlfried. She was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and no one has been charged. The boyfriend has a clean record and did have a license to carry that weapon.

An ultralight aircraft crashed late this afternoon at the Smoketown Airport in Lancaster County. The crash happened at around 5:45 shortly after the aircraft took off. At least one person was killed in the crash. The cause is still being investigated. Ultralight aircraft are not required to register with the FAA.

UPDATE: The pilot has been identified as Michael Blank of Gap, PA. He was flying alone a the time. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff and landed in a mobile home before bursting into flames.

Allen Iverson was back in South Philly tonight for AI bobble head night at the Philadelphia 76er's game versus the Charlotte Bobcats.
