New Jersey Governor Christie has signed a bill on Monday that prohibits minors under the age of 14 from using spray tanning facilities and those under 17 from using tanning beds. The bill does say that those 17 and older can use commercial tanning beds if a parent or guardian is present for the initial consultation. The state already has strict guidelines pertaining to underage tanning. Currently children under 14 cannot use tanning beds and those under 18 must have written parental consent.

A man tried to pay his cab fare with marijuana on Friday night in Old City on Chestnut St. 23-year-old Michael Medvec didn't have the money to pay his $8 cab fare. Meanwhile, Police tried to ticket the cabbie for being double parked when he explained that the guy won't pay the fare. Medvec agreed to leave his phone for collateral and go inside to supposedly return with money. Instead of money he tried to pass the driver a bag of pot to pay for his ride, forgetting that the cops were there trying to write a ticket. Medvec got arrested both for possession of marijuana and not paying for his cab fare. Capt. Brian Korn felt sympathy for the cab driver. Not only is he still out the $8, but now he'll have to take off work to go to court to testify in the drug case as well.

More than 100 police officers and other law enforcement members entered a 40 day benefit contest for fallen Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox. It's called the 'Stache Bash. Today those involved shaved clean and will grow out their mustaches over the next few weeks. Categories include best overall, most creative, and most disturbing. Some participants already bore upper lip critters that they haven't shaved in decades, others never have tried to grow one before. It's all for a good cause. $10,000 have already been raised. A motorcyclist was killed this evening on the Schuylkill Expressway. The accident happened eastbound on I-76 near Girard Ave. Pennsylvania State Police say the motorcyclist lost control and crashed. Traffic was backed up for several miles as State Police investigated. The roadway reopened at 10 pm.

The SEPTA Norristown High Speed Line derailed near 69th Street station in Upper Darby tonight. The train came up off the track slightly due to an equipment problem. No one was injured. It happened around 9pm.
