Fired Arcadia University President Carl "Tobey" Oxholm III says he has been banned from campus and was cut-off from his university email/calendar/contacts in a message sent to friends and colleagues on Tuesday evening. Oxholm was abruptly let go from his position on March 8th after serving as president of the private Glenside, PA university for only 20 months. The Board of Trustees and university leadership have declined to give reasons for Oxholm's termination citing its a confidential matter. Oxholm, himself, does not know why and cannot give a reason other than that he is stunned. In his letter he apologizes for his abrupt withdraw from the campus and wishes to extend his gratitude to the community and say goodbye. “Again, it is with the greatest of sadness that I say goodbye to Arcadia – a community that I loved,” he wrote. “I gave the institution, and everyone connected with it, my very best each and every day. I am truly sorry that was not good enough.”

Police are looking for a suspect who attacked an employee inside a craft beer store. The assault happened inside the Beer Heaven craft beer store at 1100 South Christopher Columbus Boulevard near Penn’s Landing on March 31 at around 7:30 p.m. The suspect argued with the employee about a past purchase and became angry, threatening to throw a bottle at him. The man's friend wrestled him outside. Moments later the suspect came back into the store and threw the bottle at the employee, who jumped over the counter to confront the suspect. The employee was knocked to the ground and kicked several times. The suspect even drew a gun but did not fire before running away. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video. The suspect is described as a black male, 6’3”-6’5” and approximately 300 lbs, wearing a blue and grey Dallas Cowboys jacket, with dark pants and a white Polo shirt. Anyone with information should call 911 or 215.686.TIPS (8477).

Two Philadelphia principals have surrendered their administrative certifications amid a widespread cheating scandal. Barbara McCreery, most recently the principal of Bok High School, and Lola Marie O'Rourke, the former principal of Locke Elementary School, had been investigated by the state under allegations they had erased and changed student answers on the standardized PSSA exams. A statewide probe in 2009-11 found cheating in 15 districts, with 28 Philadelphia schools flagged for having a high numbers of erasures on the state tests.
