Lentil the Bulldog Pup with Cleft Palate, No Carnival in Hunting Park, Record Warmth

A 10 week old bulldog puppy was given up by its breeder because it was born with a severe cleft palate. The puppy, named Lentil (pictured) was adopted by Lindsay Condefer, the owner of Street Tails Animal Rescue in Philadelphia. Lentil has to eat through a feeding tube until old enough for a series of delicate surgeries. In the meantime, Lentil's Facebook page has over 50,000 Likes.

The carnival being planned for Hunting Park will have to find another location. Sharif Street, son of former Mayor John Street made plans for the travelling carnival as a fundraiser for the NAACP on city property in Hunting Park. However he never applied for a permit. Parks and Rec got wind of it and said no. Carnivals have done damage to parks so they are not allowed.

Yesterday’s high temperature of 84 degrees tied the record for the date in 1959. Today is expected to be even warmer and compete for the record of 87 degrees set in 1922. Get out and enjoy it today. Tomorrow’s high will be 20 degrees cooler than today.

Sports
Tonight the Phillies finish the Mets series with Kyle Kendrick on the mound.

Weather
Mix of sun and clouds, showers possible later. 84 in Center City.
