Canada School Temple Owl Mascot; Main Line Man Shoots at Burglars; Andrew Bynam Flamenco Dance Video

Temple University has asked a Canadian high school to stop using an owl mascot logo that looks surprisingly like it's own. The school in Kelowna, British Columbia has agreed to change it's symbol. The high school's flying owl design is virtually identical to Temple's, save for a difference in color. Kelowna Secondary School began using the logo back in 2002 after Temple had trademarked it's image but the Philadelphia university only just found out about the problem. Temple's owl mascot comes from it's history as a night school.

A homeowner on the Main Line used his gun to fend off would be burglars this afternoon. The incident happened around 1 pm in Lower Merion's Wynwood section. Two men knocked on the front door of the man's home on the 1200 block of Remington Road. When he didn't answer the door, they went around back and forced their way inside. The homeowner was waiting for them and fired his handgun at them. The intruders ran off. There is no indication that anyone was hurt or how many shots were fired. A white car was seen leaving the scene. Officials are still investigating.

Andrew Bynum, who can very loosely be defined as center for the 76ers, was caught on video the other night flamenco dancing at Cafe de Chinita in Madrid, Spain. Now, I've actually been to this establishment and it has great flamenco dancing, but it should be left to the professionals. Seven-foot free agents who sat out the whole season due to knee problems only to have season ending knee surgery weeks ago should not been seen dancing on stage while the NBA playoffs are in full swing. Now he can do what he wants given he's not under contract, but it doesn't look good when you were just paid millions by Philadelphia to do nothing for a whole year.
