A home invasion in the Lawncrest section of Northeast Philadelphia overnight left a woman dead and her husband hospitalized. The couple in their 70's was victimized around 2 am when intruders entered through a window and violently beat the man and woman before fleeing. Police have retrieved surveillance video from several neighboring businesses in hopes of identifying the intruders.

UPDATE: Police have now arrested and charged the husband with the murder of his wife. It was first believed to be a home invasion that left the 74-year-old woman dead and the 75-year-old man with injuries to his head and face. Reports are that the couple was well like by the neighbors and that the man was a successful businessman in the neighborhood.

A 19 year old West Pottsgrove man is dead after being abducted at gunpoint at his home Sunday afternoon. A group of armed attackers broke into his home and demanded money. The victim, Kareem Ali Borowy was found dead on the side of the road five miles from where he was abducted. Police do not believe this was a random attack.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie has remarried. Ten months ago Lurie announced his divorce from Christina. Yesterday, the 61 year old Jeff Lurie married 39 year old Tina Lai (pictured) in a private ceremony. The bride’s family owns several Vietnamese restaurants in the city. The new Mrs. Lurie will have no official role in the Eagles organization.
