Police say a Dover man, Takoi A. Morris, was charged with his 6th DUI offense on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. at South DuPont Highway (US13) and South State Street in Dover. Morris was arrested and charged with his 6th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, No Proof of Insurance, and Driving While Using an Electronic Communication Device. He was arraigned and ordered held on $11,000 secured bail.

A man was killed in a police-involved shooting in Southwest Philadelphia Thursday night. The incident happened on the 2200 block of South 77th Street. Philadelphia Police say officers attempted to stop a man. Police say the man fled on foot and allegedly pulled out a gun. Authorities say the officers fired their weapons and shot the man. No police officers were injured during the incident.

Whole Foods Market Inc. said Thursday that labels on a chicken salad and those on a vegan version of the salad were reversed at some of its cold food bars in the Northeast. The mislabeled salads — a curried chicken salad and a vegan curried “chick’n” salad — were sold in 15 stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, Whole Foods said. They were sold on Tuesday and Wednesday. The company, based in Austin, Texas, said no illnesses have been reported.

Weather, May 10

Partly Cloudy. High 83 in Center City.
