A man in Walnutport, Northampton County, PA, north of Allentown, looked out his kitchen window Tuesday night and saw what he thought was a giant wild turkey. When Robert Leseberg went out to get a closer look at the bird it easily stood up over the 6' 3” man. He realized the 'turkey' was indeed an exotic emu and left the bird alone. After returning from picking up dinner it was standing in his driveway and not budging. With the help of a neighbor, Leseburg was able to wrangle the bird into a kennel. Calls to animal control, police, and the Lehigh Valley Zoo have been fruitless in finding the wayward bird's owner. Currently the runaway is at an emu farm in Easton while the owner can be tracked down.

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the face this morning by an 11-year-old boy in Camden , NJ. It happened at around 8 a.m. at an apartment on Hunter Street in the Crestbury Apartments. The boy was rushed to Cooper University Hospital to undergo treatment. He is expected to survive. The 12-year-old's 19-year-old sibling was home at the time of the shooting. The 11-year-old is not related to the family. No charges have been filed. An investigation is underway to discover how the boy got a hold of the handgun in the first place.
