A male suspect is hospitalized after a police-involved shooting in Kingsessing on Wednesday. The incident happened at S. 53rd Street and Greenway Avenue. Philadelphia Police say officers responded to a call of a shooting when there was a confrontation with an armed suspect. Authorities say officers discharged their weapons. The suspect was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with gunshot wounds to the face, buttocks, and chest. This is the second police-involved shooting in Philadelphia on Wednesday. Police shot and wounded an armed suspect at about 10:30 a.m. during an incident on the 2400 block of 4th Street in North Philadelphia.

There has been yet another bear sighting in Burlington County, the most recent sighting was early Wednesday morning in Pennsauken. According to officials, the bear was seen in the area of Cottage and Browning Avenues, adjacent to Pennsauken Creek. The Maple Shade Police Department says an officer spotted the bear on Wilson Road just after midnight Tuesday — it immediately retreated into the woods along the Pennsauken Creek on the Moorestown border. The latest incident in Pennsauken marks the 11th bear sighting in the area in a week.
