Center City Collapsed Building Casualties, Germantown Rapist Charged, Murnaghan Makes Adult List

Three people were killed and at least 13 people were injured following a building collapse in Center City Philadelphia Wednesday morning. At least three people, including two women, were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. Two patients were treated and released. The third patient is listed in fair condition. Five victims were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. A hospital spokesperson said all 5 suffered non-life threatening injuries. Five victims were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police say a person of interest has been charged in connection with the rapes of four young girls at gunpoint. Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit picked up 22-year-old Antuane Brown for questioning early Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of East Price Street in Germantown. It’s not known what led to Brown, but just Tuesday, the Citizens Crime Commission put up a $2,500 reward for any information leading to a suspect. Police also circulated a video of a man on a bicycle. The suspect was wanted for the rapes of four females – ages 12 to 17 – in the streets of Germantown since March.

U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) says a judge has ruled to allow 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan and potentially other children to be temporarily added to the adult list for a lung transplant.
Sarah’s family filed a lawsuit Wednesday to change organ-donation rules for children saying the existing rules discriminate against children under the age of 12 by giving older candidates priority for donated adult lungs.
If there is another child in the judicial district in Sarah’s circumstance, the judge would consider a temporary restraining order if the case is presented in court.
