Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson to perform Thick as a Brick 1 and 2 at Kimmel Center in July

Fresh off of his first new album in a decade, rock legend Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull will be stopping by Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center on July 17th to perform his concept album duo, Thick as a Brick and Thick as a Brick 2. Just released by Anderson last year, Thick as a Brick 2 is a follow up to the famous original 1972 concept album, a favorite of Tull fans and number one in the charts following its release.

Formed in 1967, British rock band Jethro Tull climbed into the spotlight with Anderson's signature flute sound mixed with folk and hard rock rhythms. The group managed to typify rock n' roll music of the period while constantly experimenting with new sounds and taking rock music in new directions.

While relatively quiet in the 2000s, Anderson has stormed back with a bang lately with the release of Thick as a Brick 2 and current European/American tour, which continues through December. His Kimmel Center show will be the first live performance of Thick as a Brick in its entirety since its release in 1972, and for many eager Tull fans Anderson’s return cannot come fast enough.

Tickets are available through the Kimmel Center for $75, but are close to sold out. More tickets are available on Stubhub and other re-sale websites starting at $90.

For more information on the event, check out the Kimmel Center's website HERE.
