Revel Resort Name Change, Bicyclist Impaled in Accident, Mayor Nutter's Unpaid Gas Bills

The Revel Resort in Atlantic City is emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will be changing its name. Revel's new name is "Revel Casino Hotel" and new ownership is rolling out a new marketing campaign focusing on attracting more gamblers. The original plan was to market Revel as a luxury resort.

Philadelphia police are investigating a bicycle accident that occurred overnight in Fairmount Park. A cyclist was found impaled on a fence after he crashed at Lansdowne Drive and Black Road between Memorial Hall and the Martin Luther King Drive at about 2:30 this morning. The crash site is part of the Philadelphia Triathlon course this weekend. The cyclist had no ID and is in critical condition.

Philadelphia Gas Works filed a claim on May 18th against Mayor Michael Nutter for not paying his gas bill. Nutter neglected to pay the gas bill accumulating a balance of $507.76 for gas service to his house in Wynnefield. Common Pleas Court documents shows that the billed was ultimately paid on June 15th.
