Tearson Remembers Zimmerman Lawyer from WMMR, Kane Gets Grand Jury Judge Out, Excessive Heat Week

The attorney for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin murder trial was a Philadelphia DJ in the 70's for radio station WMMR. That's what iRadioPhilly DJ Michael Tearson told the Daily News. Tearson also worked at WMMR at the time and said West was there for "a long sip of water" between 1977 and 1978. West got a Master's degree from Penn and worked at several radio stations.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane appears to have succeeded in ousting Grand Jury judge Barry Feudale. The Inquirer is reporting that in a bitter and secret legal fight, Kane asked the Supreme Court to remove Feudale because he was no longer fit to run a grand jury. Feudale oversaw some of the state’s biggest cases including Bonusgate and the Penn State sex abuse scandal. Feudale commented that Kane executed a “sneak attack” and said “Kathleen Kane is a politician first, second, and third and perhaps an AG... fourth and fifth.”

This week, Philadelphia is in for the longest, hottest heat wave of the season. The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures above 95 degrees every day this week. Heat indexes will be in the 100 to 105 degree range. Excessive heat warnings are in effect. Drink lots of water. Health authorities are warning to limit outdoor activity between 1 pm and 6 pm. And please check on the elders.

Weather
Sunny. Hot. Stray showers possible. 95 in Center City.
