Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl from Southwest Philadelphia. The girl arrived at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at around 2:45 am this morning and was pronounced dead. She had bruising on her body and bleeding from her ears. There was also evidence that she was sexually assaulted. The victim’s mother and a male resident of her home were both taken into custody and questioned by the Special Victims Unit. DHS also removed an 11-month-old from the home on South 56th Street. The little girl died as a result of blunt force trauma to her abdomen.

A Rittenhouse Square woman has found her dog after losing it during a break-in last week. Betty the dog is back home with her owner Alison Rans. Rans came home Friday evening to find her home burglarized. She was missing her TV, laptop, and little dog 'Betty'. Today, Crime prevention officer Steve Kiefer found the dog in the square just a block from Rans' building. The break-in is still under investigation.

The FBI was back searching the Schuylkill River near Falls Bridge for a second day. Divers from the FBI's Underwater Search and Evidence Recovery Team (one of four teams nationwide) searched the dark waters, while other searched the shorelines. Investigators and federal prosecutors were on hand during the operation, but no one would let on as to what they were looked for expect evidence of a white-collar crime. The public can only speculate what evidence of that type of crime would be in a river unscathed.

Clear skies and warm, Temperatures remaining in the upper 80's this evening in Center City.
