Authorities are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Bellmawr Tuesday afternoon. Investigators say the suspect entered the Fulton Bank on the 300 block of Browning Road and passed a teller a note demanding money. He fled on foot with cash. The suspect is described as a male between 25 to 30-years-old, about six-feet tall, with a slim build.

Many area schools have only been on summer break for a month, but back to school ads are already in full swing. In the struggling economy retailers are fighting for a bigger piece of the $84 billion back to school pie. What’s at stake with back to school? The size of the market is second only to Christmas in terms of total spending.

Total gambling revenue at the state’s 11 casinos was flat for the fiscal year that just ended, but gross revenue from table games grew 7.4 percent on the strength of continued strong growth at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and the first full year of play at Valley Forge Casino Resort. The state’s casinos have been facing stiff competition from growing casino industries in Maryland, New York, Ohio and Delaware. Just as Pennsylvania siphoned business from Atlantic City when its gambling venues came on line, it’s now feeling the effects of gamblers having new options elsewhere in the region.

Weather, July 17
