Traffic was shut down in both directions on the Atlantic City Expressway yesterday evening after a minivan overturned ejecting its passengers on the roadway. The accident happened in the westbound lane in Winslow Township. Ten passengers in the van were treated at Cooper University Hospital, six of them children. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

New Jersey notified thousands of homeowners affected by Hurricane Sandy that they had been declared ineligible or wait-listed for federal aid money. 3,500 federal grants of up to $150,000 have been issued. In a news conference yesterday where Governor Christie announced $44 million in essential services grants, Christie pointed out that he did not encourage people to rebuild right after the storm.

A New Jersey prison guard is charged with impersonating a police officer in order to have sex with prostitutes without paying. Trenton state prison guard, 50 year old Juan Stevens of Burlington Township faces a 25 count indictment from a state grand jury. Stevens called escort services for prostitutes then flashed his badge to the women claiming he was a cop running a prostitution sting, but would let them off if they had sex with him – for free.
