It seemed as if the world was waiting this morning after news broke that Kate Middleton had gone into labor at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's hospital in London. It didn't take too long before the formal announcement was made that a baby boy had been born to the royal couple. William and Kate's son is now third in line for the crown of England. It may take a number of days before his name is announced.

Here is the official statement:
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm.
The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.
The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.”

One suspect was killed and another is in critical condition after a shootout with FBI and Police this afternoon. Both suspects, who are stepbrothers, were wanted in connection with multiple murders. They found them in a house in the 6600 block of Musgrave Street in Germantown around 1:15 p.m. When the two tried to escape out the back they fired at police who returned fire. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other suffered multiple gunshot wounds and taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. No officer was hurt.

George Zimmerman, the man who was acquitted of the murder of teenager Trayvon Martin earlier this month, has not been seen publicly since, except for a brief remarkable moment last week. Florida Police say that Zimmerman and another man helped pull a family of four out of an overturned SUV that had wrecked off a Florida highway in Sanford. The single-car accident occurred July 17 at 5:45 p.m. Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash and left after making contact with the deputy, the sheriff's office said. This week in Philadelphia, the mother of Trayvon Martin, Sybrina Fulton, and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will speak at the National Urban League's annual conference. Holder will talk Thursday about the Voting Rights Act. Fulton will speak Friday about potential civil rights violations.

Tonight
Cloudy, Chance of showers, Temperatures in mid 70s this evening in Philadelphia
