Colin Devlin Suicide, Crane Operator on Trial, Colwyn Theft Charges Withdrawn

Philadelphia born restaurateur Colin Devlin apparently took his own life after receiving disappointing news related to his dining establishments. The 42 year old Devlin's body was found about 5:30 yesterday morning at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Lehigh County. Devlin attended Temple and opened his first restaurant, "Dumont" in Brooklyn and later "DuMont Burger" both of which fell into financial difficulty. Devlin left a note and leaves behind a wife and two children.

The wife of the heavy equipment operator charged with involuntary manslaughter in the deadly collapse at the Salvation Army says Sean Benschop is a scapegoat. Tynisha Gregory-Benschop claims the mayor didn’t bother to learn all the facts before implicating her husband. Benschop’s lawyer agrees saying safety at the job site was not Benschop’s responsibility.

Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Whelan has withdrawn theft charges against Colwyn Borough’s public safety director Rochelle Bilal. Bilal was arrested Sunday for allegedly intercepting mail intended for borough police officers. The Colwyn cop who arrested her, Trevor Parham has also been suspended by Colwyn’s Borough Council.

The Phillies are in Detroit with the Tigers tonight.
