A coast to coast bicycle tour from Boston to San Diego is underway to support those in need in El Salvador. A stop is scheduled for this Sunday in Havertown, PA at the home of Ernesto and Tonia Betancourt who will host the cyclists and a community brunch to help raise awareness and encourage donations for the effort.

From the website:

The Tamarindo Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3), tax exempt, public charity committed to accompanying and empowering the people of rural post war El Salvador (Central America) in their social, cultural, intellectual, economic, physical and spiritual development.

"On August 4 2013 John Guiliano, Duglas Mena and Luis Lopez will leave Boston, Ma. to begin the Give Families a Chance Bike Tour; a 3582 mile bike journey from Boston to San Diego. We take to the road with great hope of inviting you and others across the world to be part of our Tamarindo community."

From Ernesto Betancourt:
On Sunday, August 11th from 10 AM till 1 PM Tonia & I will be hosting three bicyclists that are riding from Boston to San Diego in a fundraising effort. The cyclists are friends of my family, and are the founders of the foundation. They will be at my house to tell about the programs and their vision for the Tamarindo Foundation. Contact me for information about the gathering at
