By the time of the third day at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware many of the attendees and campers were accustomed to the flow of the event. Sunday morning brought mild sunshine and decent temperatures, a rather drastic change from previous two heated days. The spirit was alive, people wanted to pursue the last day at Firefly with great energy. The doors opened at noon, and there was a line of people from early morning. Check out the gallery to day three here.

Opening the third day of Firefly was soul singer/songwriter Selah Sue on The Lawn stage. It was a great start to an eventful day of music. Sue provided grooves and vocal melodies presented sharply and very fitting for a Sunday morning. Next opening The Backyard stage were Delta Rae, an American Folk group from North Carolina. Their performance was staggering, getting the crowd to clap and sing along. During an intimate cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" light rain began to fall, providing a very spontaneous and serendipitous moment for the festival crowd. With six members on stage, Delta Rae was a sight to see. A true testament to the state of folk in America, Delta Rae were impressive and engaging.

Next on The Lawn stage were HAIM, consisting of three sisters Este Haim, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim. They took the stage and dove straight into an animated set of songs, melodies and fantastic rhythm. The way the HAIM sisters work on stage is remarkable, with amazing chemistry. During their set they played a new song entitled "The Wire" which will be on their upcoming debut album. Alana Haim then made the sediment, "If anyone throws a hat on stage we'll wear them!" And without further ado, three hats were thrown on stage and the HAIM sisters all wore the audience's given hats for the remainder of the set. One the greatest performances of the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware.

With the lingering rain Sunday had some rest time during the afternoon. It started raining heavily around 2:30pm and cleared just in time for Matt and Kim to take The Lawn stage. Allowing the audience to participate was unique to Matt and Kim’s set. It was very receptive to the crowd, with high energy and excitement. Then replacing The Lumineers' absence was Ben Harper on The Main Stage. He brought out a lap steel guitar and played the blues very fluently. It was a great set of classic American music with a full back up band of musicians.

Passion Pit then took the Firefly Main Stage playing his electronic power pop to a crowd of loyal fans. A display of brilliant song writing, Michael Angelakos was in tune and very prompt during the set. Playing song such as, "Take A Walk" Passion Pit did not disappoint. Amanda Palmer And The Grand Theft Orchestra then took The Porch stage. Playing in the very sly way only known to Amanda Palmer, it was an intimate performance to a devoted crowd. Going through a set of solo material, there were also songs from throughout Dresden Dolls’ catalog including fan favorite, "Sing." Then as a very special appearance Palmer’s father joined the stage and the two performed a very impressive Neil Young cover. Amanda Palmer closed the set on Ukulele playing the "Ukulele Anthem" leaving the audience with an uproar.

Vampire Weekend played a set on The Lawn stage to an enormous crowd on Sunday at Firefly Music Festival. Playing fan favorites such as "A-Punk" and "Cousins" Vampire Weekend made an awesome addition to performers. Lead singer Ezra Koenig was on point vocally and with skillful guitar playing. Foster The People closed the Main Stage to the remaining abundant crowd at Firefly Music Festival. Because really when talking about a successful festival it all comes down to one thing, the people. The closing set was enjoyed by many, proving to be a perfect way to end the eventful weekend. Finishing their set with "Pumped Up Kicks" it was reminiscent of a summer anthem. Foster The People completed Firefly Music Festival with elegance and grace.

With the amount of attendees, volunteers and artists at this year’s Firefly Music Festival in the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware it’s no doubt the event is going through its growing stages. The event was enjoyed by many, a great weekend jam packed with amazing music, tribes of friends and plenty of fun. Each day went by smoothly, proceeding the other with a solid music lineup after another. It'll be no surprise when next year’s Firefly becomes the sensation it's capable of. The amount of attendees nearly doubled this year and Firefly proved it can be handled properly. In the light of popularized festivals such as Lollapalooza (Chicago), Bonnaroo (Tennessee) and Coachella (California) the North East Coast of America needs an event precisely like Firefly Music Festival. Looking forward to next year’s event with eager intent and anticipation. There’s a definite feeling of an annual festival each year in Dover, Delaware and it’s not to be missed.
