The first wrongful death lawsuit in Center City building collapse has been filed. The family of 24-year-old Mary Lea Simpson of Haverford filed the suit Tuesday against the Salvation Army, the building's owner Richard Basciano, and the demolition contractors. Simpson was one of 6 killed when a brick wall from the adjacent building fell on the Salvation Army thrift store. She was with shopping with her childhood friend, Anne Bryan, who was also killed. Simpson was an art student pursuing a career in sound engineering.

Police in Gloucester Township have arrested a man for leaving his daughter locked in a car outside the municipal building this afternoon. A Gloucester police officer heard the crying child and they were able to get her out of the car and to a hospital. The father, 38-year-old James Hernandez, was charged with with Creating a Hazardous or Dangerous Condition.
