Van Morrison's 'Moondance' to be reissued by Warner Bros. on Oct. 1st

Van Morison's 1970 breakthrough album 'Moondance' has been remastered and will be reissued by Warner Bros. Records on Oct. 1st in 3 versions. 'Moondance' has the distinction of being a triple platinum album, a Grammy Hall of Fame inductee and listed as number 65 in Rolling Stone's “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”

This reissue has 50 unreleased tracks including studio outtakes from “Caravan,”Moondance” and “Into the Mystic.” As far as “Moondance” the cut goes, I think it has one of the very best ending of any song. I can't wait to hear multiple takes of all the songs but especially “Moondance.”

The 3 versions has a few flavors:
1. remastered CD with all original cuts.
2. 2 Cd’s remastered version with a second CD with 11 unreleased tracks.
3. 5 Cd’s with the addition of a linen-wrapped folio, notes from the album tracks from Alan Light and Elliot Scheiner and a Blu-ray audio 5.1 disc with surround sound.

I have read a couple of different scenarios about this venture. Van Morrison had no part in the project, to he had a hand in it and approved it, to he had no part in the project and opposes it. It seems many artists have love/hate relationships with their present and past labels. All we the fans can do is love the music.
