Eagles Sideline Flash Cards, Cheese Steak Life Saver, Lunch Program Outrages Lawmakers

Chip Kelly made a good first impression last night in his NFL debut win as the Philadelphia Eagles new head coach. His upbeat attitude and personality extended to the sideline as well. Instead of boring flash cards signaling plays, assistant coaches held up images of Rocky, the Phillie Phanatic and Bart Simpson. The Eagles beat the Redskins 33-27.

Going for a cheese steak may have saved a life. Last night a car ran up onto the sidewalk in front of Pat’s Steaks in South Philly and took out a table where Neville Williams of Baltimore, Maryland had just been sitting. The driver of the rental car lost control, hit a parked car and wiped out Williams chair and table. About a minute earlier, Williams decided he was still hungry and went inside to get another cheesesteak.

The new policy of “no free lunch” in the Willingboro school district in Burlington County has some New Jersey lawmakers outraged. According to the new rule, students not on the free lunch program who don’t have enough money to pay, have their lunch tray emptied into the trash at the end of the line. Assembly Democrats Joseph Cryan and Jason O’Donnell are calling the program wasteful and wrong.
