I-95 Closures, Victoria's Secret Willow Grove Theft, Gilberton Police Chief To Be Fired

PennDOT has announced that daytime lane restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for a series of bridge inspections. The work schedule is today and next week, Monday through Thursday. The right lane will be closed on northbound I-95 between Island Avenue and Broad Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also on Friday, September 27, the right lane will be closed on southbound I-95 between Allegheny Avenue and Girard Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Police are investigating the theft of $8,000 worth of bras from a Victoria’s Secret store at the Willow Grove Mall Thursday morning. Abington police say two men entered the store with garbage bags and emptied out drawers full of bras. Police say they did it in just two minutes.

Officials in a small town said Thursday they intend to fire a police chief suspended after he posted online videos of himself shooting automatic weapons and going on profanity-laced tirades about liberals and the Second Amendment. Gilberton officials made the decision on Thursday concerning police chief Mark Kessler, the only full-time member of the town’s police force, who’s active in gun rights circles and is organizing an armed, non-government group that critics call a private militia. In January, Kessler drafted a resolution the borough adopted that calls for nullifying any federal, state or local regulations that infringe on the Second Amendment.
