Philadelphia police say a man is in critical condition after being shot in the chest and right arm Sunday in North Philadelphia. It happened near the intersection of 5th and Huntington Streets. The 40-year-old victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

A lot of fans were surprised Sunday, as they arrived for the Phillies final home game, to learn Ryne Sandberg officially got the manager’s job. The fans overwhelmingly approved of making Sandberg permanent manager. Players approved too. For fan appreciation day, reliever B.J. Rosenberg was handing out Bobbleheads at the gate and endorsed the choice.

A woman who police say had a role in the shooting death of a Rite Aid manager in Chester, Delaware County has been arrested. 23-year-old Rita Pultro of Philadelphia was taken into custody Sunday. She had been wanted in connection to the murder of 40-year-old Jason McClay Thursday night at the Rite Aid store at 9th and Highland Streets in Chester. Her accomplice, 24-year-old David Wiggins, was arrested Saturday. He is facing first, second and third degree murder charges.
