Two Coatesville school administrators resigned three weeks ago over racially charged text messages and the District Attorney's office has launched a criminal investigation. Superintendent Richard Como resigned his $175,000 per year job. Athletic Director James Donato also stepped down. The Daily Local News reports it uncovered several pages of text messages on school issued phones that included racially charged conversations using the n-word 12 times in one conversation.

Villanova University has submitted a new plan to build dorms, a parking garage, a performing arts center and retail stores along Lancaster Avenue at the campus. Radnor Township rejected the original plan, considered too ambitious by neighbor groups. The scaled back plan offers smaller buildings and more parking in additional campus garages. The $270 million plan goes before the Radnor Board of Commissioners tonight. See also: http://designconceptforlancasteravenue.com

Philadelphia will be the meeting place this week for the Marcellus Shale Coalition. The Shale Insight 2013 Conference brings together hundreds of CEO’s, industry leaders and elected officials. The three day conference is designed to create additional dialog about what is one of Pennsylvania’s biggest economic booms.
