Deadly Roosevelt Blvd Crash, Hugh Douglas Pleads Not Guilty, Liberty Bell Bomb Threat Man Acquitted

Police are investigating a deadly crash on the Roosevelt Boulevard last night. The two vehicles involved may have been racing and both had a baby in the car. A female passenger in one of the cars was pregnant and was still in the car when it burst into flames. She is dead. A man in that car was able to get a baby out of a car seat before the fire.

Former Eagle, Hugh Douglas has pleaded not guilty to felony assault and strangulation charges in an alleged attack on his girlfriend in Hartford, Connecticut. Originally the woman told police her neck injuries were from rough sex. Douglas’s lawyer denied all accusations and predicted her charges would be dropped.

The man arrested for threatening screeners at the Liberty Bell has been acquitted. Carlos Balsas had been in custody since his arrest in January on a felony bomb threat. Security at the Liberty Bell said Balsas told them he had “explosives.” Balsas, a Portuguese citizen says he was misunderstood, claiming he told the screener he had “exclusives”, the Portuguese word for personal property.

The 76ers announced rookie big man Nerlens Noel will likely be out for the season recovering from ACL surgery.
