Two Philadelphia police officers were injured in North Philadelphia last night in a confrontation with a suspect. A man in a vehicle was pulled with stolen goods in the car. The car suddenly took off dragging two police officers several hundred feet before crashing into several cars along the way including the squad car.

In Harrisburg, the bill that would put billions into Pennsylvania roads, bridges and mass transit has been put on hold. Democrats and Republicans are divided over the terms of the deal as they pertain to prevailing wage laws on transportation projects. The House plans to continue discussions and hopes to vote in mid-November.

Former Gov Ed Rendell has been suggested to Governor Corbett as a potential replacement for Pedro Ramos on the School Reform Commission. Democratic State Rep Mark Cohen made the suggestion because he feels the former mayor is well suited to lead in a time of maximum peril during a difficult crisis caused by lack of adequate school funding.
