Philadelphia is ranked number one for smartphone thefts, according to a new survey by AAA. So far this year, there have been more than 3,500 cell phone thefts in the city. Mayor Nutter joined state Attorney General Kathleen Kane and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to support a new national initiative called Secure Our Smartphones, or SOS for short. They are calling on companies to make it harder for thieves to sell the stolen phone. But smart phone manufacturers make $30 billion dollars to replace stolen and lost smart phones.

New Jersey's second medical marijuana dispensary opened its doors to patients Monday. Compassionate Care Foundation in Egg Harbor Township is an appointment only facility. Medicinal marijuana was legalized in New Jersey in 2010, since then dozens of regulations have been drafted, and there are several steps to sign up with the state-run program, including the okay from a physician who is regisgtered with the program, and patients can only buy two ounces a month.

Authorities are investigating after they say a body found in Haddonfield appears to be a victim of a suspicious death. The male body was found by joggers in a wooded area near Merion and Narberth Avenues shortly before 5 p.m. Monday night. Authorities say identifying the man is not possible at this time due to decomposition. Evidence gathered at the scene indicates the man’s death is suspicious.

Weather, October 29

Partly Cloudy. High 57 in Center City.
