Cobbs Creek Parking Dispute Shooting, Delaware Man Runs Over Girlfriend, Nick Foles Ties NFL Record

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in West Philadelphia early Sunday that apparently stemmed from a dispute over double parking. The incident happened just before 3 a.m. in the 100 block of North Dewey Street in Cobbs Creek. Authorities say the unidentified man was shot once in the chest after he got into a dispute with a 25-year-old armed security guard who was double parked on the same block.

Police in New Castle County, Delaware have arrested a man they say beat his girlfriend then ran her over during a domestic dispute early Sunday morning. Donald Smith got into an argument with a 27-year-old woman inside his car in Tuxedo Park. Smith then physically assaulted the victim. At one point, the victim got out of the car and while she was laying on the ground, Andrews says Smith ran over a portion of her body. He then fled the scene after crashing into a tree. Smith is being held on $11,000 secured bail and faces a long list of charges including strangulation, vehicular assault and DUI.

The Philadelphia Eagles' offense came back to life to beat the Oakland Raiders, 49-20, behind an NFL-tying seven touchdown passes from Nick Foles in his ninth NFL start. Foles finished his career game completing 22 of 28 passes for 406 yards. Foles is the first quarterback in NFL history with seven touchdown passes and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. So far, he’s the only NFL quarterback this year with at least 10 touchdown passes and no interceptions. The only other time he said he ever threw seven TD passes was in a video game.
