Down Philadelphia Carriage Horse Lives, Fumo Hospitalized

A carriage horse went down on 8th Street in Philadelphia over the weekend and was pronounced dead on social media by several passers-by who snapped pictures and posted eye-witness accounts to Facebook and Twitter. Fortunately, they were all wrong. It turns out that the 1,800 pound horse named Silver fell after it tripped on a manhole cover. Silver is fine.

Former State Senator Vince Fumo has been hospitalized with internal bleeding, apparently related to a biopsy Fumo had during a prostate cancer exam a few days ago. Fumo is back in Philadelphia after serving four years in federal prison for public corruption. The 70 year old Fumo is completing his sentence living in his mansion in Spring Garden.
