The former chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party has been arrested for allegedly drugging a female employee from his law firm and raping her while she was unconscious. Robert Kerns faces 19 criminal counts, including charges of rape, sexual assault, tampering with evidence, and lying to authorities. The incident happened Oct. 25 after an after-work party. Kerns offered to drive the victim home because she had been drinking. She was drugged on the way to her neighborhood by drinking Ambien-laced wine. Kerns assaulted her in the car and again once he helped her inside her house. Kerns resigned his post as party chairman on November 14th . He is married and has three adult children.

The parents of a 6-year-old boy who starved to death after being returned to their care have been sentenced to 30-60 years behind bars. Khalil Wimes had lived with relatives until the age of 3 until Tina Cuffie and Latiff Hadi won him back. They were convicted of third-degree murder. The parents kept him locked in a room, beat him, and made him run laps the day before he died. Cuffie is the mother of 11 children and the couple had lost custody of 5 previous children. The sentence ensures they will no longer have to have the responsibility of parenting.

Nick Foles has been declared the starting quarterback for the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles season.
