Grammy 2014 Nominations Announced... Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, J. Timberlake get most nods

And the Grammy Nominations Go To...

The 2014 Grammy nominations were announced tonight in front of a live audience in Los Angeles and broadcast on CBS. Included in the broadcast were several performances from artists expected to garner nominations to this year's award show. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis opened the show with a performance of the their breakthrough hit "Thrift Shop." The duo is nominated

Taylor Swift joined the show with a “live” performance of “I Know You Were Trouble” from performance of IKYWT comes from Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia. It was taped on December 4th. She is nominated for four Grammys, including Album of the Year, Best Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Miguel and Keith Urban collaborated on a rendition on Bill Wither's “Ain't No Sunshine.” Katy Perry took the stage to perform her surprise empowerment hit “Roar.” Lorde both mesmerized and confused the audience with her haunting vocal and minimal staging, but glazed stare and odd movements. The 17-year-old is up for four Grammys, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Closing out the night Robin Thicke was joined by T.I. and members of Earth, Wind, & Fire to play his summer smash “Blurred Lines”.

Jay Z has the most nominations of the year. He is up for nine Grammys, including Album of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Part II (On The Run)" and "Holy Grail"), Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album and Best Music Video ("Suit & Tie" and "Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film").

Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell Williams each garnered seven nods; Drake and mastering engineer Bob Ludwig are up for five awards.

The awards will be held Jan. 26, 2014, 8-11:30 pm at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and on CBS television.
