72-year-old Kermit Gosnell has been sentenced today in a federal case for illegally distributing OxyContin and other painkillers from his West Philadelphia clinic. He pled guilty to the charges last July. Gosnell would write prescriptions and sell them to dealers and addicts inside his clinic, essentially running a “pill mill”. The federal investigation into this activity led to the gruesome discovery of Gosnell's abortion practices. He is currently serving life without parole for killing three babies born during attempted abortions. He has been sentenced to a concurrent 30 years for distributing painkillers.

The last defendant in the murder of Bucks County guitarist and musician Danny DeGennaro was sentenced today. Nineteen-year-old Kazair Gist of Trenton, N.J. Was given 52 to 104 years in prison. He'll be eligible for parole when he is 70-years-old. Two other males in the botched robbery turned murder received life sentences, and two females received lightened sentences for cooperating with authorities.

New Jersey State Police have cancelled an Amber Alert after a father and his one-year-old son were located Monday night in Passaic County, New Jersey. Passaic Police say at about 1:55 p.m., the non-custodial father, Tomas A. Quiles, 19, allegedly assaulted his child’s mother and took his one-year-old son, Tyrus Quiles, at a bus stop at 33 Passaic Street in Passaic City. The father was last seen walking on foot with his son in an unknown direction. Authorities say the father did send a text message threatening suicide. He does have a restraining order against him. Shortly after 5:45 p.m. Monday night, authorities announced the father and the child had been located at McBride Avenue in Paterson. The child was found safe.
