The Secret Service is investigating a major breach in credit and debit card security at 1,800 Target department stores nationwide. Beginning Black Friday through December 15th, a malware collected credit card information at about 40,000 checkouts in stores across the country. Authorities believe up to 40 million accounts may be affected as information was stolen from the magnetic strips on cards. If you shopped at any Target store since Black Friday, check your account online to verify all charges are yours.

There were three winners of $1 million in our region from the big Mega Millions drawing. One in Toms River, one in Cranford, New Jersey and one in Delaware. One of the two big winners who had all 5 numbers plus the Mega Ball was Ira Curry of Stone Mountain, Georgia. She bought one ticket and picked numbers using her children’s birthdays and her lucky #7 for the Mega Ball. Ira Curry has decided to take the $123 million post tax cash payout.

Lawyers are outlining allegations of lies and deception before a grand jury at hearings in State College over the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Former president Graham Spanier, Athletic Director, Tim Curley and Vice President Gary Schultz face charges of perjury, obstruction, conspiracy, child endangerment and failure to properly report suspected child abuse.
